To start the day off right, we're having breakfast at Cositas Ricas on W. Parker Road, it's a Colombian restaurant.
Who needs a Starbucks?? This cafe con leche is the best coffee that I've ever had!
And who doesn't like beans & rice with steak and arepas for breakfast?
I am ready to take on the day!!
Sugar daddy is not a great fan of Korean cuisine... but i have a real addiction to bibimbap, especially the kind served in the hot stone bowl... love love love that crispy rice on the bottom!!
I get my bibimbap fix at Tasty Korean BBQ on Miller Road.
Sugar Daddy likes Indian food; but doesn't usually choose Swad Vegetarian Restaurant (i think the vegetarian part is what turns him off! lol). So when he has to travel for business, The Barbarian & I take advantage and head over to Swad on Laurens Road. It's not a fancy place, but small and cozy... and they have excellent food! It makes me think of home-cooked food... food that you would be served if you were visiting someone's home.
I think that if I had to pick only one cuisine (thank goodness that i don't have to!), I would have to say Indian. It just hits every taste bud... so good!
My nephew named the brown one Jasmine; and I named the black & white one Bunny (because of her long ears).
Not sure there is a real reason for us to keep goats at our place in Temple. I guess that part of the reason is so that my nephew can have a pet and learn about animals. Another would be that slowly we are working to turn our little place in Temple into a "rural retreat"... we are also planning on getting a few chickens.
The older I get, the more I am drawn to a more rural and environmentally- conscious lifestyle.
Plus, aren't these little girls just the cutest?
The original used one of the round nylon netting "scrubbies". I couldn't find these at first (how weird!); and so used a scouring pad. I stitched around the pad and then began to crochet.
We stopped in last night on the way to our place in Temple. While we were waiting for our order of steamed Korean dumplings, I saw this sign -- which never fails to make me laugh!
I thought I would share it!
It only took about 20 minutes & it only hurt a little teensy bit!

I used the rectangle magenta Knifty Knitter Loom to knit this bag; and then trimmed it with single crochet.
I worked this from the bottom up... and discovered that the "roll" you get when binding off could be used as extra cushioning for the handles.
I am so glad that Bi-Lo uses blue bags now!
It was made using the yellow Knifty Knitter Long Loom. I made this free form (no pattern); and used acrylic (Red Heart Super Saver, I think) yarn from my yarn stash. I used acrylic for the doggie sweater for easy care.
Once I figured out how to bind the "arm holes", the project was fairly easy. I completed this sweater in a day.
I think Jubal looks quite handsome in his new sweater!

Sometimes on we sleep in on Sunday mornings... then we get up, get ready & head over to Saffron, the best all around Indian restaurant in Greenville!

Saffron has very good food, which is always beautifully presented. We have taken folks there who have never had Indian food... and everyone seems to find something to enjoy.
Although Saffron is our family favorite, I also enjoy Swad, which is a very small vegetarian restaurant. In my very humble opinion, Swad is like going over for a home-cooked meal... nothing fancy... just good food! (Swad's website: http://www.swadvegetarianrestaurant.com/)
