EATING THE CHRISTMAS TREE

To me, the saddest part of the holiday season is taking down all of the decorations. Sugar Daddy likes everything down by the weekend after Christmas Day. I could leave them up for a few weeks... but he usually wins this one. So we put everything away until we were left with nothing but the bare little yuletide tree.

Many communities offer Christmas tree recycling options...but this year, we decided to recycle our Christmas tree by feeding it to our little goats...what could be more eco-friendly than that? lol

CHRISTMAS WISHES

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!!
We had a good one...it was a very different kind of holiday than usual. We spent most of Christmas Eve driving! We had driven from Greenville to Temple on Tuesday night so that we could attend my extended family's annual luncheon. I have never missed one in all of my 39 years. Our younger son had to miss it...he stayed in Greenville because he had to work. So SugarDaddy & I went to the dinner...it is always great seeing my cousins and their kids!

Then we left at about 3 and headed back to GVegas to pick up son from work...ate at the Bi-Lo Deli while waiting on son. And then drove back to Temple, GA. All in all, about 10 hours drive time.

We got home...put the young nephew and niece to bed and did our 'Christmasy' chores...finally getting into bed at 2:30am...zzz...zzz

Can you believe those wacky kids were up at 5:48am?

I was soo tired! lol

I have posted pics of our little tree. That is my nephew & 'niece', who decorated it!

CHRISTMAS COMES A LITTLE EARLY FOR BUNNY & JASMINE

Sugar Daddy installed a hayrack for Bunny & Jasmine. We got them a nice bale of alfalfa hay, a new mineral salt lick, a goat protein pail & licorice-flavored treats!

Merry Christmas, Bunny and Jasmine!

( wow! those treats smell so good!)

GABRIEL & JUBAL TAKE A RIDE

These boys are "fresh to death"... both just got their Christmas grooming.

As you can see, it really tuckers Jubal out!

LOOMKNIT & CROCHET SCARF

Here is the loomknit & crochet scarf that I am working on as a holiday gift. I really like the way this yarn 'stripes up'... I will definitely play with the other color offerings in this type.

i had a couple of suggestions about leaving the scarf long and skinny...which i would if the scarf was for a woman... but since it is going to a guy, i feel that it needs a little more width to it.

do guys wear skinny scarves?

anyway... just wanted to post a few pics to show that I have been working on it... although I didn't get much done this weekend... my older son and dil came up from Georgia to visit!!! We all had such a great time...I just love it when the whole family is together... makes me dread the day our younger son decides to fly the coop...sigh

HOLLYWILD LIGHTS SAFARI

As part of our holiday festivities, we took in the lights of Hollywild's Light Safari. If you haven't seen this annual holiday attraction, it's worth checking out. It's what I call a quantity as opposed to quality light display...LOTS of lights EVERYWHERE!

But it has character... where else can you pull into an enchanted deer forest to feed little deer (descended from the deer in the movie 'Prancer') by hand? There is also a walk-thru section with a bonfire where you can buy hotdogs & marshmallows to roast. And you can get hot chocolate to sip on as you listen to Christmas music and look at goats, llamas, buffalo, long-horned cattle, camels, reindeer, zebras, donkeys, and ze-donks (so cute! but my camera wouldn't get a good shot).

It's truly a unique holiday experience.

but be forewarned, traffic into the place was HORRENDUS! We waited in line for 3 HOURS. And there is NO traffic control...Hollywild could really benefit from hiring a police officer to direct traffic!

RIDING AROUND LOOKING AT CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN PELZER SC

We drove through Pelzer to see The Light People and the surrounding neighborhood.

We were a little sad to see that many in the neigborhood were not participating. We talked with the one Light Person we saw... she said this was the darkest the neighborhood had been in the last 19 years.

But we still enjoyed the lights that were on.
